| The Coorong National Park is located 90 kilometres south east of Adelaide. The area has many wild and unfrequented places, ocean views, vast lakes and high sand dunes. This unique environment of international significance creates the ideal setting for a kayaking adventure. The area we explore is still pristine, still has plenty of water as it is fed by the tide..come and see it before it is gone forever. Adventure Kayaking SA will take you to this incredible area for a safe, fun and enjoyable experience for all ages and levels of experience. This is an ideal day of exploration for adventurous family or social groups. We meet you at Goolwa, 90 minutes south of Adelaide by car, then lead you to Sugars Beach on Hindmarsh Island where the real adventure begins. Our kayaking adventure is a full day (9-30am to 4pm) of fun as we introduce you to travelling by kayak and this stunning area. The views are awesome, the double sea kayaks stable and very comfortable and our friendly guides just love sharing a day of adventure with you. The wetlands of this area are an important breeding ground for an incredible diversity of water birds, some of which are rare and endangered. The adventure includes a leisurely paced kayak journey to Godfrey's Landing, a National Park campsite and Interpretive Centre. Here we accompany you on a stroll along a boardwalk that crosses stunning sand dunes to the Great Southern Ocean and share some stories of the Coorong, its fragile ecology, indiginous heritage and history. After the kayaking and the dune walk we prepare a seafood BBQ that will surely hit the spot! We pride ourselves on offering a great variety of fresh local foods with a selection of chicken, meat and salads. We can cater for special dietary requirements on request. |
